Congregations and performers alike will delight in this energetic setting of the well-known hymn tune Lobe den Herren. The bass clef bells prepare and propel the melody in the upper bells with an energetic and rhythmic ostinato that carries through much of the piece. There is a brief musical duelling between the clefs
that builds and then joins to close the first section. The second section then begins with the highest treble bells picking up the ostinato pattern while the bass bells restate the tune. Once again, the high and low bells offer brief exchanges of sound and then unite to conclude the work with a continually building wall of sound that cumulates in a final triumphant chord. The choir that needs a short celebratory anthem, postlude or concert piece will find this selection a joy to play.
