Fugue In C Major

Bach's mastery of the art of polyphonic composition is demonstrated in this transcription for bell quartet. The experienced group will be challenged by the tightly interwoven contrapuntal lines as well as the sheer unbounded exuberance of the music. Each performer's technical and musical abilities will be pushed to new levels as the group strives to perform the piece with clarity and spirit. Especially challenging for the group will be to bring out each entrance of the theme and counterthemes as they move from part to part. The work is a wonderful postlude as well as a sparkling addition to any church or secular program.
